Our Team
UTrucking, a student-run business, is a white-glove storage, shipping, and appliance rental business at WashU. Started in 1977 as a way for students to ship their items to and from the East Coast, UTrucking is the oldest and largest student-run business on campus and serves 2,000 WashU students annually. Over nearly 50 years of service, UTrucking has been run by WashU students and proudly serves only WashU students.

As the company's Managing Partner, Adam Mofid drives change and leads through others. Adam redeveloped the company's services post-COVID and oversees vendor relationships. Originally from San Diego, CA, he studied at WashU's Olin Business School and mentored for City Faces and Niños Cambios Puertas. Adam also develops off-campus housing for WashU students (uhousing.com).

Joseph Hettinger joined UTrucking full-time after graduating from WashU in 2023 with a major in Supply Chain, Operations, and Technology. Originally from Los Angeles, he was a pitcher on the Varsity Baseball team, as well as the co-founder of a dining-to-dorm food delivery business. Now, he manages all storage and shipping services, enjoys connecting with new WashU families over the phone, and is eager to lead the next class of entrepreneurs at UTrucking.

UTrucking “alumni,” as we call them, have founded countless private and publicly-traded companies, including College Boxes, OpenDoor, and others. While the next step after UTrucking is entrepreneurial for many, the experience opens numerous doors in many fields–recent Alumni have been propelled to careers in consulting, investment banking, and prestigious graduate programs.

Hunter Jones is from Nashville, TN, and graduated from WashU in 2023 with a finance major. He works at Maryville Consulting Group in St. Louis. At UTrucking, Hunter found new ways to use technology to improve our efficiency and customer experience. Hunter enjoys football, travel, and space exploration in his free time.

Julian Golden is from New York City and graduated from WashU in 2023 with a philosophy major. At UTrucking, Julian oversaw company logistics for storage and shipping services. After graduating, Julian brought his aptitude for business logistics to Interco, the largest Metaltronics recycler in the Midwest. He is one of two team members in charge of all domestic freight and spearheads the growth of their freight brokerage, Madison Cartage Co.

Matt Moore, originally from Des Moines, IA, received a BA in Economics and a MS in Finance from WashU. Matt also competed as a long jumper on the track and field team where he was a team captain and NCAA DIII national champion. At UTrucking, Matt focused on finance and strategy. Some of his best memories from UT include truck driving for multiple cross-country road trips, working long days and nights with his co-workers, and helping students and parents navigate their transition to WashU. After graduating, Matt joined Ares Management – an alternative investment fund with $419b AUM – as an analyst on their private credit team in Chicago.

Nitan Shalon is from the Bay Area, California and studied computer science and biology at WashU. At UTrucking, Nitan served as President and was in charge of different facets of the business over his three year tenure, including business development initiatives and customer experience. He is on leave from his PhD in computer science at MIT and is currently a founder of an AI startup in California.

Noah Robins is a multifaceted professional who co-founded UHousing (uhousing.com) and zCap (zcapinvestors.com) after graduating from WashU with a degree in economics. Noah fondly recalls his time at UTrucking, where one of his favorite memories was driving a UHaul across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge while it towered above the clouds. Beyond his professional endeavors, Noah is an avid golfer, often spending his free time on the golf course.

Will Parven has worked in commercial real estate since graduating from WashU with an Economics / Finance degree. One of his favorite UTrucking memories was successfully delivering a huge piano to a student’s apartment! In his free time Will enjoys hiking, traveling, and water sports.
