Our east coast shipping service allows you to ship your items home at a fraction of the price of UPS or FedEx because we skip the middle man and drive it to you ourselves. Not only is this cheaper, but it also means you can ship anything, even if it does not fit into a box!
Serviceable areas are shown in pink on the map. This service is exclusively offered to students who live in the northeastern United States including but not limited to the following areas:
- Washington DC area
- Baltimore area
- Philadelphia area
- New Jersey
- Tri-state area
- Long Island (No further east than Nassau county),
- Boston area
Included standard with every signup:
- Unlimited packing materials (boxes, tape, bubble wrap, bag tags)
- Shipping item pickup from dorm room or apartment
- Standard insurance of $100 per UTrucking box
- Personal delivery directly to your home address
Shipping prices are based on the size of each item and will be billed after shipping items are picked up by UTrucking. Please refer to the drop down menu for some of our most commonly shipped items. If your item is not listed, you can contact us and we will give you a cost estimate based on the information you provide.
We do our best to ensure that every item is handled with the utmost care and respect, however on rare occasions mistakes do happen. In the case of any damage or loss of a stored item, every UTrucking box stored comes standard with $100 of insurance. If you plan to ship items of significant value and/or items which cannot be shipped inside one of our boxes, additional insurance can be purchased. Additional insurance applies to all items shipped and is in addition to the standard $100 of insurance on every UTrucking box.
e.g. If two items with a $250 value were damaged, both would be covered with $500 of additional insurance. But if $500 of additional insurance was purchased and two items with a $500 value were damaged, only one of those items would be covered.
In order to ensure no items are lost, every item that you wish to ship must be clearly labeled with your name, item count (1 of 2, 2 of 2), and taped securely shut. Customers must also indicate which items are to be shipped and stored if they are using multiple services. There will be a $25 fee assessed if any items are not packed or labeled properly.
We run on a tight schedule, and it is essential to our operations that your items are ready to be picked up when we arrive. It is for this reason that we assess a $50 fee if the customer is not packed and ready upon arrival during the scheduled time slot. If you need to adjust your scheduled date/time, please do so at least 24 hours in advance.
There is no additional charge for boxes as long as they are used for a UTrucking service or returned when your items are picked up. However, if any boxes that are unused are not returned to UTrucking we assess a fee of $7 per box. This is primarily to prevent customers from giving away boxes they've ordered or being wasteful and throwing away new boxes.
